Mount Hope Tractor Founder David Shetler remembers restoring his first tractor at age 16 like it was yesterday. It was his Father’s 1930 John Deere GP. Ever since then, his love of tractors and God-given talent for bringing them back to life has mushroomed with each restoration. He opened Mount Hope Tractor in 2000. Along with his staff of expert mechanics, they treat each make and model like a family heirloom.
With small to large jobs—from a minor repair to a paint job to a complete ground-up restoration—their work has earned a reputation for its unerring attention to detail. They invite the customer to be part of the process, taking before, during and after photos and inviting them to visit. The journey can become emotional, too, as younger generations restore a tractor to its former glory.
